our wedding venue

Our wedding in 2008 was held at a fabulous old mansion in Devon, called Buckland House. We rented the whole place for the weekend, self catering, so that all our family and friends could stay in one place. We didn't leave it from friday night to monday morning, as we had the ceremony in the lounge, ate dinners in the dining hall, or the ballroom where we also danced on the wedding night, and there were lots of grounds so we could play rounders, swim in the (very cold) pool, or go rowing on the lake. It was just what I'd always wanted, a big, comfortable, family gathering, where everyone chilled out or pitched in when needed. And the place looked gorgeous (click on photo to see it larger or scroll down for close-ups):

I created this layout based on the Sketchy Thursdays sketch for the week:

I layered up lots of elements, like Papermania vinyl flowers and flat rero flower head stickers, some lace trim bought at a car boot sale, a Studio G church image stamp and my new Fiskars 'scrapbook' stamps, along with other bits and pieces from my stash. Some close ups:

The colours I've used all fit my colour scheme for the day, so I'm pleased with it. And how cool is the film strip stamp? I'm sure this will appear on a lot of pages!

I have another LSNED page to show you, from my lesson on the 5th of September, about my daughter's inability to tell the difference between a sofa and a potty (click pic to see it larger):

I tried to make light of a frustrating situation!

If you're looking for other good LSNED bloggers, I'm loving Miss Smith's pages on her blog Curiouser and Curiouser. She's managing a 12x12 page everyday so far which I'm very impressed about, and I like her relaxed style and her little stories about everyday life. So check it out if you're interested!

I'm off to eat a jam donut and drink some red wine, yum. xx

This is so exciting, thank you! I love the colour scheme to your wedding venue place, it's such a lovely palette. And it sounds wonderful - I hope it was a good weekend!

The frowning sofa is really cute - quite disgruntled-looking!
