Counterfeit Kits January Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my first Counterfeit Kit Challenge Design Team Blog Hop!

Today we're revealing all the kits that the Design Team created for this month. You should have reached me via Jemma at Just Jimjams but if you're just landing here by chance then you can always pop back to the start at the CKCB - that's also where you'll find the master list of the Blogs taking part! After you've read about my kit, don't forget to hop onwards to Julie at His Glory Girl.

Without further ado, here's my January kit:

I had some of the items in the original kit by Paper Issues - I had scraps of Crate Paper's Sleigh Ride papers, the Sleigh Ride Mini-Alphas, and some Pink Paislee Artisan Resistable Stars. So I started my kit from these and built it up!

The original kit is Christmas / winter themed, but I tend to craft in advance of events rather than just after them. So I probably won't scrapbook photos from the festive season just gone until November-ish. During January I like to make Valentines projects and I also might make a few baby-girl projects as my daughter was born in March, and as her birthday approaches I like to look back at her baby pictures! So I made my kit to fit those themes. Of course I may still make a winter page with it if inspiration strikes!

The Papers:

12 x 12 Papers: Crate Paper Little Bo Peep 'Sophia' and 'Hazel', Vellum with Gold Dots (I think by Papermania), a sheet of green embossed paper from a Sandylion 'Princess' Paper Pack, Dream Street Papers Unique Boutique 'Altered Journal', DCWV Taj Mahal 'Red Blooms with Gold Glitter', Papermania Double Sided Foil Paper 'Brown Blue Ornate', Fancy Pants Dancing Girl 'Girly Girl', Jenni Bowlin Studio 'Kitty's Floral', American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan 'Heart Song'.

Smaller Papers: A piece of Pink Paislee Artisan Resistable 8x8 paper, 2 sheets of Bazzill Basics Wayfarer 6x6 paper, 3 Sheets of Papermania Happy Days 6x6 Paper, Various scraps of Crate Paper Sleigh Ride papers and tags, and some scraps of kraft paper.

The Embellishments:

Embellishments: Alphas from Pink Paislee Mistables, Crate Paper Sleigh Ride, and Simple Stories Sn@p. Stickers from Crate Paper Little Bo Peep and Paper Heart, Pink Paislee Artisan Stars, 'Starburst' Flair from Scrap and Create, Mister Huey Clay Mist, Liquid Pearls 'White Opal', My Mind's Eye All Is Bright Decorative Tape, Some Lace, Sequin Trim, Blue Velvet Ribbon, and Twine, Plus a variety of buttons and gems / pearls, and some handmade items...

Handmade Items:

I decorated some chipboard to look like wood veneers, and added some beads to pins for some extra bling. Check back tomorrow for tutorials on these!

So there we go, my first kit. What do you think of it? I'm determined to use as much of it up as possible. Make sure you hop onwards to Julie to see what Kit she's created this month! x

Lovely kit - I like the idea of scrapping before the next year's events rather than just after them - plenty of time to get the photos professionally printed and it also means you have supplies on hand for seasonal cards in time to send them!

Such a pretty kit! I LOVE your stick pins, and I am in awe of how you made your chipboard embellies look so much like wood! Amazing!

Like you, I like to scrap in preparation for a season or event, but I also will do layouts right after sometimes. Your kit is like a breath of fresh air. Crisp and refreshing. And the bright red paper brings in just the right "pop" to guard against predictability.

Good for you for making your kit work for you. The inspiration kit's colors could totally be for Valentine's Day. Wonderful counterfeit of woodgrain pieces.

It might have taken me a while to get around to saying it, but I was so pleased when your name popped up on the list of new CKC Master Forgers. I just knew that your kits and projects would be full of inspiration - and I wasn't wrong.

I love this kit so much - much more than the original. The colours are just so pretty! x
