Counterfeit Kit Challenge #2 - Cookie Cutters!

The Counterfeit Kit Challenge Team like to offer up challenges throughout the month, to keep you on your toes and inspire you to get creating! This month my assigned challenge was to Use A Cookie Cutter for, or on, a project...

Hey Superstar:

I used a star shaped cookie cutter as a stamp, with Mister Huey Clay Mist as my ink. I just unscrewed the lid of my mist and dripped some onto a porcelain plate to make a pool. You could also use paint for this, but I was sticking to my January Counterfeit kit that I'd already put the mist in:

Then I dipped in my cookie cutter and stamped a couple of times for each star, pressing down as much as possible. I did put a piece of scrap paper underneath when I wanted one of the stars to go off the edge!

Once the mist was dry the stars were great spots to feature my journaling and my bird Fake-Wood Embellishment:

And the top stars helped to anchor my title and bring the page all together:

What do you think? It took me quite a while to stitch the pink sequin trim around my photo - I layered the photo onto some white cardstock and just stitched the trim at the corners, but it kept getting tangled up! It also took a while to add the dots of White Opal Liquid Pearls all around the page (on some lime-green cardstock which is all I added to my kit supplies), but I like how both the pearls and the sequin trim look a bit like the light bulbs around theatre style / Hollywood mirrors!

Have you ever used a cookie cutter on a papercraft project? I have used one once before - on an old misting challenge I made this Baking Love Layout using a gingerbread man cookie cutter as a mask. There's lots more inspiration for other ways top use them from the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Design Team today right here!

Bye for now, x

I have used them to draw round, but never stamped with one. Who knows what TSO will say when I dive into her collection?! It's a great idea

your star stamping is awesome! I wouldn't have imagines you'd get such a great effect. This is really a stunning layout and I love all of it - the sequin frame is gorgeous.
Question - how do you manage to get such a stunning photo of your layout - mine always look so bleh!
