The Counterfeit Kit March Challenge #2 is to mix at least 3 different patterned papers together, inspired by the designer Vera Bradley. I often mix patterns together on pages with a cardstock or plain background, so to really challenge myself I used a background paper with a bold pink chevron pattern...
Happy to be Together:
I made sure that some patterns were bold, some subtle, some big, and some small, so that the patterns didn't overwhelm my photo.
I am pleased to have finally used this 'Happy to be Together' chipboard piece as my title - it's been in my stash for years and years:
And my Shrinkles bird looks good next to some layered up Prima flowers and Crate Paper Brad (I attached the bird using glossy accents):
I love how bright and busy this layout is, as it reminds me of that summer day. Though since I finished and photographed the layout I've remembered more details about the day - like how me and my daughter didn't like the food as she is picky and I was heavily pregnant... and how she didn't want to go home because there was a path-maze that she was walking round-and-round for ages... I need to fit some more journaling somewhere!
How about it - will you have a go at mixing lots of patterns on your next page?
I'm off shoe shopping for the kids today... wish me luck! x

All those patterns work so lovely together. Great page x
I love how it all works against that background pattern.
Lovely job. Very pretty layout!!
I love yellow and pink together, such a great combo. Gorgeous pictures too.
Did you find shoes OK? :)
Lovely layout - I had that chipboard 'happy together' embellishment in my stash for ages too! I eventually used it on a LO of me and The Doctor together :)
Hope the shoe shopping wasn't too stressful. Isn't it fun when you can find a place for a bit of stash you've held onto for ages. I like the combination of papers against that chevron background.
Sneaking in more journaling is a common problem here - the back gets used often :)
Super cute layout and picture! love the bold background paper!
Love seeing how this layout came togetherm and the shrinkie bird is fab x
The colours go well together. It's good when memories keep coming, I'm sure you'll find a way to record them on this page
Love your take on this challenge. This is a beautiful layout!
What a great photograph, and I like how the patterns you chose (geometric) keep the pink from being too feminine. Really well done!

This is such a sweet layout.
I like the different patterns, colours and sentiments on here.
super adorable! AND YOU KNOW WHAT i DO (oops) if I remember something about the photo? I just write it all on the back so my kids can rad it later (sometimes I get lengthy)
Lovely page Jennifer - isn't it great when scrapping a photo prompts even more memories ... I need all the help I can get ;-)
mmm... shoe shopping! practically the only shopping I enjoy! Have fun. (oh just noticed it was for the kids... maybe not so much fun! ha ha!)
