<br />
As a farewell to this blog, Jennifer's Jumbles, I thought I'd mention some of my favourite posts from here...<br />
<br />
2010 was the year I really got into blogging, and this card was from April 2010. The flower on the front is actually a brooch, and my friend still wears it, which reminds me that I loved the project, and I always meant to make a brooch for myself too:<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I posted some photos from a childhood holiday saying that I should scrapbook them, but I still haven't got round to it. I really want to start an album about my childhood!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2010/05/i-must-scrapbook-this.html" target="_blank">I must scrapbook this:</a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In September 2010 I started my first Learn Something New Everyday album, which I loved making, and we had a fun day out at a local village.</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made this hot air balloon as part of a blog hop, but I still like it hanging in my house - a lot of other home decor items I've made disappeared into a box soon after, but this one is still going strong.</div>

When I wrote this post I was feeling blue because I'd entered some layouts into a competition and not got anywhere. But this post led to me being invited to write for another magazine, which in turn has opened other doors, so I'm very thankful for it now. Plus I love my 3D layout about our family trip to London, which was a brilliant holiday!</div>

You have to pay for most effects at PicMonkey now, but it's not very much, and you can opt out at any time, so I still use it and love it! This post has a few tips on how I use it to edit my photos. My daughter still loves to play on it to, she offered to teach my friend how to use it recently!</div>

<a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/my-march-counterfeit-kit-blog-hop-reveal.html" target="_blank">My March Counterfeit Kit</a> has been languishing in it's box all month long. Not because I didn't like it - in fact I love it for it's bright happy colours, and my <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/fimo-feathers-and-paper-straws-tutorials.html" target="_blank">handmade embellishments</a>! But March has been busy with illness and birthdays, and I had other crafty projects to make for deadlines, so my poor kit was feeling neglected.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Not anymore though! Over the last couple of days I've made a layout and a couple of cards, and I'm working on some more. So though it's taken me a while to get to it, I know I'm going to get a lot of use from it eventually!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's the layout - <b>Moments</b>:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FZU5-rH5G-o/UVQgZX46x1I/AAAAAAAAI_0/0I0NOnUz13w/s1600/moments+blog.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FZU5-rH5G-o/UVQgZX46x1I/AAAAAAAAI_0/0I0NOnUz13w/s1600/moments+blog.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I chose soft colours for this page about my Dad walking me down the aisle on my wedding day. I like the coral colour in the patterned papers - it's not quite so girly as pink but still has a romantic feel. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used the Pink Paislee 'moments' word for my title, though I still haven't completely decided whether to put another word before this so it says 'nervous moments' or 'sweet moments' or something like that - what do you think? I couldn't choose what other word to use as their were so many emotions going through me at the time!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tpLjVc37h00/UVQgYny7-SI/AAAAAAAAI_s/7v74DGKWWYA/s1600/title+close+up+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tpLjVc37h00/UVQgYny7-SI/AAAAAAAAI_s/7v74DGKWWYA/s1600/title+close+up+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There's a cluster of embellies below my journaling - I used the key to symbolise that my future was becoming 'unlocked', my <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/fimo-feathers-and-paper-straws-tutorials.html" target="_blank">fimo feather</a> was the perfect colour, and I love the heart button which is pale but pearly. I stuck these all on with <a href="http://www.sjpapercrafts.co.uk/ranger-glossy-accents-868-p.asp" target="_blank">glossy accents</a>:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6BGSWxz-mZ8/UVQgaGPqOPI/AAAAAAAAI_8/_L50vcwwoxQ/s1600/happy+close+up+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6BGSWxz-mZ8/UVQgaGPqOPI/AAAAAAAAI_8/_L50vcwwoxQ/s1600/happy+close+up+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm happy with the dreamy feel to the page!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here are the cards I've finished so far...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Believe You're Awesome:</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-If29pykBZjc/UVQjaza81WI/AAAAAAAAJAY/Px0LwWP5QnU/s1600/believe+card+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-If29pykBZjc/UVQjaza81WI/AAAAAAAAJAY/Px0LwWP5QnU/s1600/believe+card+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A pretty card to cheer up a friend. I heat embossed a chipboard butterfly with white embossing powder - thanks <a href="http://maisiemaycrafts.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Sarah</a> for lending it to me! And I added some little pink gems to the wings, so it looks nice and sparkly.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>For You: </b></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HAa39RQrido/UVQjJp75NKI/AAAAAAAAJAQ/qCelQdVMsyo/s1600/for+you+card+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HAa39RQrido/UVQjJp75NKI/AAAAAAAAJAQ/qCelQdVMsyo/s1600/for+you+card+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just had to use this cute owl on something! This card would make me smile so much if it came through my door - I just adore cute owl designs. Plus the yellow is so cheerful. I can't wait to send it out to someone! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Can you see the little heart stamp? It's from the Maya Road 'You Are' Stamp set in my kit - I used it on my layout too. I am going to be using this heart all over the place - it stamps so clearly and is a sweet finishing touch!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have you been making any projects that make you feel happy lately? x</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Seeing as I've been telling you how much I'm loving Glitz Design, first in my <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/cha-winter-2013-product-picks.html" target="_blank">CHA product picks</a> post, and then with<i> <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/happy-mothers-day-washi-tape-bow.html" target="_blank">this Mother's Day card</a></i>, and <i><a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/go-glitz-layout.html" target="_blank">this 'Go' layout</a></i>, among others, then you probably aren't surprised that I'm entering the <a href="http://glitzitnow.com/" target="_blank">Glitz Design</a> and <a href="https://www.gossamerblue.com/" target="_blank">Gossamer Blue</a> '<a href="http://glitzitnow.com/blog/?p=2948" target="_blank">Guest Designer' Contest</a>!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I've made two entries, a layout and a card. The layout is bright and summery - I feel like I need to scrap photos like this at the moment to remind me that the weather will heat up at some point (it will, won't it?!). I've used mainly the <i>Color Me Happy</i> collection as it's so cheerful...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Live for Adventure:</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CvEKIB1IVDE/UVGrrnyj4FI/AAAAAAAAI_c/B6ujqjNQkTk/s1600/live+for+adventure+blog.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CvEKIB1IVDE/UVGrrnyj4FI/AAAAAAAAI_c/B6ujqjNQkTk/s1600/live+for+adventure+blog.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the photo panel I cut a rectangle through the 'Woodgrain' paper, to turn it into a frame. The whole woodgrain sheet is adhered with 3D foam tape to enhance the frame effect. I built the background using a 12x12 sheet of white cardstock, which is then collaged with scraps of paper from the <i>Color Me Happy</i> 6x6 pad (and one from <i>Uncharted Waters</i>). I like how they disappear beneath the frame:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7smWA2795eo/UVGrnM9qjAI/AAAAAAAAI_M/hPZra3DQn4M/s1600/for+like+ever+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7smWA2795eo/UVGrnM9qjAI/AAAAAAAAI_M/hPZra3DQn4M/s1600/for+like+ever+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
At the base of the photo panel I border punched some stars using an American Crafts Knock Out Border Punch. I left the cardstock to show beneath them so they stood out more.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I sprinkled some white mist drops around the title, and heat embossed the 'Chevrons' Roller Doodle pointing towards it, so it didn't get lost with all the bright colours above it. I also added the 'follow your dreams' giant rhinestone as a subtitle, I adore the multi-coloured letters in it:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-T4nyTZSeojg/UVGrlO9QdbI/AAAAAAAAI_E/JVtTCCHMCA8/s1600/title+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-T4nyTZSeojg/UVGrlO9QdbI/AAAAAAAAI_E/JVtTCCHMCA8/s1600/title+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It makes me feel warmer and brighter just looking at this page!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's the card I made as a second entry, a birthday card for my Dad. He loves the seaside, so the <i>Uncharted Waters</i> collection was perfect to send him some wishes...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Birthday Wishes:</b></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GXjVkaKiap0/UVGrpbaRUKI/AAAAAAAAI_U/Sv2XHWYQYww/s1600/birthday+wishes+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GXjVkaKiap0/UVGrpbaRUKI/AAAAAAAAI_U/Sv2XHWYQYww/s1600/birthday+wishes+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's how to make the card:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>1.</b> Roll Glitz's 'Woodgrain' Roller Doodle in parallel lines over a 5<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;">½</span>" square of dark kraft, using a dark brown ink pad. Then trim this kraft square down to 4<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;">¾" square, to cut off the imperfect edges.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;"><b>2.</b> Trim some yellow, chalkboard effect, and blue diamond patterned papers from the <i>Uncharted Waters</i> 6x6 pad down to 4</span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;">¼" wide. My blue piece is 1" tall, the chalkboard piece is just over </span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;">¼" tall, and the yellow piece just over 3</span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;">⅜" tall. Adhere all these to the centre of your stamped kraft square.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;"><b>3. </b>Machine stitch around the edge of these coloured papers, using off-white thread. Adhere the kraft square to a cream 5x5" card blank.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;"><b>4. </b>Add an anchor from the <i>Uncharted Waters </i>'What-Nots' using 3D foam dots. Stick a giant rhinestone to the top of the anchor. Add the recipients name in the top right corner of the card using mini-alphas (<i>Cashmere Dame</i>) and dot four blue rhinestones around the anchor.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;"><b>5.</b> Heat emboss your sentiment onto cream cardstock, I used brown ink and clear embossing powder. Ink the edges of the sentiment's rectangle, and adhere on top of your anchor.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;">Then give to someone sea-worthy! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;">Have my projects made you feel summery or sea-sidey today? Are you desperate for warmer weather like me?</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;">Wish me luck in the contest!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;">x</span></div>

Hello! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is one of the layouts I made during the <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/crafty-bloggers-unite.html" target="_blank">Crafty Blogger's retreat</a>. It uses some of my most favourite products at the moment (I'm loving Glitz Design!), including lots of <i>Uncharted Waters</i>, and the fun Roller Doodle Anchor stamp which I had tons of fun with, to make my background:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VMrANTNhRZg/UU70L3eTKxI/AAAAAAAAI98/YJ-yRzxgeOA/s1600/go+blog.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VMrANTNhRZg/UU70L3eTKxI/AAAAAAAAI98/YJ-yRzxgeOA/s1600/go+blog.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The cardstock is American Crafts 'Robin's Egg'. I heat embossed the stamp in gold, and also stamped with dark grey and tone-on-tone turquoise inks. I let it stamp a little wobbly and allowed it to fade in places, so it has the effect of gently lapping waves. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also used the straw of a Mister Huey's 'Calico White' Mist bottle to streak some lines around the edges of the layout, and splattered some 'Gold Lame' Heidi Swapp <i>Color Shine</i> Mist all over the background for some 'sand'!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used a title sticker to continue the 'Go' title - the sticker says 'your journey has moulded you for the greater good' (I covered up the rest of the sentiment):</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MLkq0sHDqk0/UU727ibTkiI/AAAAAAAAI-M/ZgnJEa4xQuA/s1600/go+title+2+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MLkq0sHDqk0/UU727ibTkiI/AAAAAAAAI-M/ZgnJEa4xQuA/s1600/go+title+2+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The card I used to journal on is from the Whatnots. My journaling reads: <span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">'The beach is the best! Stones and shells to try and eat, buckets of water to throw at Mummy, sand to rub into your hair! Fun!'</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The journal card beneath this, from Uncharted Waters 'Bits and Pieces' has some glitter added thanks to <a href="http://www.lizziemade.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Lizzie</a> lending me her Turquoise Stickles (I have to get a pot of this for myself), it looks so shimmery, especially layered on top of a strip of American Crafts Gold Glitter Tape. I love how these remind me of the shine on the water and sand that day:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZMc_a3Pt1Ws/UU75MhQbU-I/AAAAAAAAI-k/CUvt1Kch_i8/s1600/stickles+blog.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZMc_a3Pt1Ws/UU75MhQbU-I/AAAAAAAAI-k/CUvt1Kch_i8/s1600/stickles+blog.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also borrowed a Martha Stewart 'Punch all over the page - Pinking Circle' Punch from <a href="http://scrapbook-me.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Louise</a> to make the perfect sunny spot for a Glitz Giant Rhinestone:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lF5OQKEGMSE/UU76PYOQs7I/AAAAAAAAI-s/KoWO90uBZDE/s1600/rhinestone+blog.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lF5OQKEGMSE/UU76PYOQs7I/AAAAAAAAI-s/KoWO90uBZDE/s1600/rhinestone+blog.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love being at a retreat and being able to borrow things off people for the perfect finishing touches to a project! Of course, it did just make me want to buy them all for myself too!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have you made any of your own backgrounds or added lots of shimmer to anything lately? Leave a link if so, and I can take a look! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm also entering this layout in the <a href="http://purplemailbox.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/layout-love-linky-february-2013.html" target="_blank">February Layout Love Linky</a> at Purple Mail Box, a sharing linky for scrapbookers! x</div>

Hello all. Sorry I've been absent for a week, we've all been a bit ill here. Nothing serious, but enough to make me feel a bit grumpy and run down. It was my daughter's birthday yesterday so any spare energy was put into preparations for that instead of blogging. She had a fabulous day and got lots of lovely presents, so she's happy!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In the meantime, some projects I made for the SJ Crafts blog were posted <a href="http://www.sjpapercrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/dear-lizzy-lucky-charm.html" target="_blank">HERE</a> yesterday. Sarah sent me a Dear Lizzy <i>Lucky Charm</i> <a href="http://www.sjpapercrafts.co.uk/american-crafts--dear-lizzy-lucky-charm--6-x-6-pad-new-2900-p.asp" target="_blank">6x6 pad</a> and <a href="http://www.sjpapercrafts.co.uk/american-crafts--dear-lizzy-lucky-charm--mini-clear-stamp-set-new-2902-p.asp" target="_blank">Stamp Set</a> to play with, and I have enjoyed using them so much! Here's the two layouts I made:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Love on Paper:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MBgwUWjQstA/UUmNfDM90FI/AAAAAAAAI9E/g4of-us33oc/s1600/love+on+paper+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MBgwUWjQstA/UUmNfDM90FI/AAAAAAAAI9E/g4of-us33oc/s1600/love+on+paper+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The feathers are cut from the 6x6 pad using my Cricut Mini and the 'Southwest' Cartridge, I thought they looked like writing quills so they worked well on a page about me and my husband signing the marriage register, and it gave some of my favourite papers from the pad a great place to shine!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I enhanced the romantic theme with gold heat embossed hearts on the background, and some envelopes and a jar fussy cut from other papers in the pad. The 'come fly away with me' sentiment on the hot air balloon stamp is just so dreamy, I had to use it on here too!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Disney Family:</b></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FoAunXQYuE4/UUmNgMg5UZI/AAAAAAAAI9I/5YNGH5SwlGM/s1600/disney+family+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FoAunXQYuE4/UUmNgMg5UZI/AAAAAAAAI9I/5YNGH5SwlGM/s1600/disney+family+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I wanted a more bold and straight look for this layout, to contrast with all the details on our costumes in the photo. I love that this pad has gorgeous graphic papers as well as romantic ones - just look at these stripes, anchors, triangles and chevrons - it's so trendy!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I stamped and heat embossed the chevron stamp several times on the left to point at the photo, and I added this 'you make my heart sing' cut-out from the pad, as my family make me so happy! The heart gems on here are by Papermania, and there's some enamel dots (<a href="http://www.sjpapercrafts.co.uk/my-minds-eye--my-girl--enamel-dots-new-2941-p.asp" target="_blank">My Mind's Eye <i>My Girl</i></a>), and some clear gemstones (<a href="http://www.sjpapercrafts.co.uk/hero-arts-gemstones--clear-ch153-2084-p.asp" target="_blank">Hero Arts</a>) - which I've used as raindrops from the cloud. I've used this technique before (<a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/a-sweet-day-dream-mme-layout.html" target="_blank">here</a>), but I thought it was okay to do it again as I loved it and the layouts will go in different albums!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you want to see some close-up details of the layouts, then go <a href="http://www.sjpapercrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/dear-lizzy-lucky-charm.html" target="_blank">HERE</a> to the SJ Crafts blog to take a peek! I made a couple of cards with the collection too which will appear over there soon!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Giveaway Winners: </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Before I go, I have a couple of Giveaway Winners to announce... these are both re-draws because the original winners never contacted me.</div>

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-R3BZdjNiScs/UT-yaOASI3I/AAAAAAAAI80/YJ3lRK9aV18/s1600/sibling+joy+best+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-R3BZdjNiScs/UT-yaOASI3I/AAAAAAAAI80/YJ3lRK9aV18/s1600/sibling+joy+best+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I scraplifted <span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://shopellesstudio.com/gallery/1108/beach_love/" target="_blank">'Beach Love'</a></span> by <a href="http://christapaustenbaugh.com/wordpress/" target="_blank">Christa Paustenbaugh</a>. I love how she'd stitched through part of her title, and I like the punched border with tags tucked into it, so I couldn't resist lifting these details from her!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-t03YdzdbkSk/UT-wymMcRDI/AAAAAAAAI8c/JPSjwts2H9w/s1600/title+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-t03YdzdbkSk/UT-wymMcRDI/AAAAAAAAI8c/JPSjwts2H9w/s1600/title+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
My tags tucked behind the punched border are all different shapes and sizes. The star flag is a stamp from the <i>Be Merry</i> Christmas stamp set, and the bottom pink banner is actually a bit of tidbits packaging cut to shape! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My tags are also special because if you give them a tug, a journaling card slides out from beneath the punched borders... </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Do you remember <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/wobbly-walking-bouncing-about.html" target="_blank">a little while ago</a>, when I said I ought to document the fights my kids have, as well as the special moments? This journaling does just that, listing some of their most recurring disagreements of the moment!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i6y1ejRfksg/UT-w0v1xnkI/AAAAAAAAI8s/yK-SFQRewYs/s1600/journaling+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i6y1ejRfksg/UT-w0v1xnkI/AAAAAAAAI8s/yK-SFQRewYs/s1600/journaling+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope in years to come it will be fun to look back at the silly arguments they had!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
At least the playpark usually keeps them happy - in this photo my daughter was helping cheeky boy down the slide - she's very sweet to him really, and I know they love each other a whole lot.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ulom8psKl6E/UT-wzsa6vjI/AAAAAAAAI8o/OuuHgZmGYfA/s1600/way+to+go+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ulom8psKl6E/UT-wzsa6vjI/AAAAAAAAI8o/OuuHgZmGYfA/s1600/way+to+go+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The 'love you' and 'way to go' tags are from the <a href="http://www.shopellesstudio.com/Everyday-Greetings.html" target="_blank">'Everyday Greetings'</a> printable sheet, which I had forgotten I had, and now will be sneaking onto all kinds of projects!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have you scraplifted anyone lately? It's a great way to get some inspiration for a few details here and there! x</div>

Have you heard of <a href="http://mamaelephant.com/" target="_blank">Mama Elephant</a> stamps? I've been drooling over them for a little while, and they are high on my list of things to buy - especially the <a href="http://mamaelephant.com/p/8506334/modern-borders.html" target="_blank">Modern Borders</a> and the <a href="http://mamaelephant.com/p/8506338/so-breezy.html" target="_blank">So Breezy</a> sets from their last release. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
At the moment they are running a sketch challenge, right <a href="http://www.mamaelephantblog.com/2013/03/me-sketch-challenge-02-31-314.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>. They kindly provided some fun free digital stamps, so that anyone who hadn't had a chance to buy their stamps could join in too - isn't that lovely of them? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope they don't think I'm breaking out of the box too much, as most of the challenge entries are cards... but I just had to print the digi stamp out to use on this layout!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>You're the Bomb Diggity: </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-h0bCrqwgJQA/UT-UxDqUg8I/AAAAAAAAI8E/n8XP-G71vWc/s1600/bomb+diggity+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-h0bCrqwgJQA/UT-UxDqUg8I/AAAAAAAAI8E/n8XP-G71vWc/s1600/bomb+diggity+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Both the 'you're the bomb diggity' and the 'celebrate love everyday' banners are from the free digi stamp set. Unfortunately my colour ink is running out so the pink one printed a little stripy, but I decided to embrace it as the page was quirky anyway!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's the sketch for the challenge (it closes on 14th March, so there's still a little time if you want to enter):</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TDfYGHasWrA/UT-TN8xCeoI/AAAAAAAAI7k/eHRfBC5uQ70/s1600/sketch.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TDfYGHasWrA/UT-TN8xCeoI/AAAAAAAAI7k/eHRfBC5uQ70/s640/sketch.png" width="467" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I flipped the sketch, and the 'sentiment' became my title. I followed the sketch by framing my white cardstock with grey, overlapping two banners, and adding a little lacy detail beneath them:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jObht5OaPCU/UT-UETDhJ2I/AAAAAAAAI70/CmlMcSfV-Qk/s1600/title+close+up+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jObht5OaPCU/UT-UETDhJ2I/AAAAAAAAI70/CmlMcSfV-Qk/s1600/title+close+up+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just love how the title is a bit tongue-in-cheek silly - it suits the photo, no?! I'm on the right in the photo, in case you were wondering if that really was me, thanks to the crazy face! My sister is in the middle, and my sister-in-law is on the left - I should say 'sorry girls' to be posting this out there for the world to see!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The journaling reads:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">'Who would guess we were at an elegant dinner dance in fancy dresses?! I had such a fun evening having a few drinks with my sister and sister-in-law, dancing the night away, giggling, and being silly! We know we're cool...'</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Y-21pyFgDys/UT-UWkzJQiI/AAAAAAAAI78/HuH_wkipw5s/s1600/journaling+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Y-21pyFgDys/UT-UWkzJQiI/AAAAAAAAI78/HuH_wkipw5s/s1600/journaling+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I don't like too much white space, so I did a little splattering and scattered some <a href="http://www.sjpapercrafts.co.uk/studio-calico--wood-veneer-tiny-stars-new-2863-p.asp" target="_blank">Studio Calico Tiny Stars</a>, as well as heat embossing a <i>Lucky Charm</i> stamp with black glittery powder, to give the background lots of interest.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm super happy with how the layout reflects the vibe of the evening - a bit glam and girly, but also tons of fun! Hand's up anyone else who's pulled silly faces with their girlies for the most flattering photo ever?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ha ha! Have a great day, x</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

On Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd March I went away for a crafty crop - my first crop ever! The room was filled with the nicest bunch of ladies you could hope to meet... in no particular order they were <a href="http://www.lizziemade.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Lizzie</a>, <a href="http://simplyalexa.typepad.com/" target="_blank">Alexa</a>, <a href="http://kscraftycorner.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">K</a>, <a href="http://mrswookieswanderings.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Missus Wookie</a>, <a href="http://jsquaredscrapspot.wordpress.com/" target="_blank">Julie</a>, <a href="http://itchifingers.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Sandie</a>, Jill, <a href="http://just-jimjams.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Jemma</a>, <a href="http://scrapbook-me.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Louise</a>, <a href="http://scrappyjackylive.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Jacky</a>, <a href="http://beautifullilysramblings.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Fay</a>, <a href="http://www.journalofcuriousthings.co.uk/" target="_blank">Kirsty</a>, <a href="http://alisonslife-in-the-slow-lane.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Alison</a>, <a href="http://chattycraftyartypig.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Ruth</a>, <a href="http://www.ispeakmelsh.co.uk/" target="_blank">Mel</a>, and Me!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yGII_Zzv6YI/UT5SQSt50FI/AAAAAAAAI6c/U-gu348guEo/s1600/group+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yGII_Zzv6YI/UT5SQSt50FI/AAAAAAAAI6c/U-gu348guEo/s1600/group+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We'd hired out a Youth Hostel all to ourselves for the weekend, so we could make a nice mess of the long table... you can see a plate of homemade biscuits I took with me to share: </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-E3aiA6LaTh8/UT5SRBw0XcI/AAAAAAAAI6g/H6oqPoCvlXI/s1600/biscuits+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-E3aiA6LaTh8/UT5SRBw0XcI/AAAAAAAAI6g/H6oqPoCvlXI/s1600/biscuits+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Our evening meals were cooked by the YHA staff, but we'd all taken food towards lunch and breakfasts... and we had tons! Here's just a small amount of it:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pxrZhSnvVGw/UT5W4GY1uwI/AAAAAAAAI68/nMwxyBZ6Lzo/s1600/lunch+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pxrZhSnvVGw/UT5W4GY1uwI/AAAAAAAAI68/nMwxyBZ6Lzo/s1600/lunch+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There was plenty left for a midnight snack with a glass of red wine, while I played with a <a href="http://www.sjpapercrafts.co.uk/american-crafts--dear-lizzy-lucky-charm--mini-clear-stamp-set-new-2902-p.asp" target="_blank">Dear Lizzy <i>Lucky Charm</i> Stamp</a> and some embossing powders that K lent to me:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8QAJ5fH5G0A/UT5SSRpMsAI/AAAAAAAAI6s/MB4gVZk6H7I/s1600/late+night+snack.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8QAJ5fH5G0A/UT5SSRpMsAI/AAAAAAAAI6s/MB4gVZk6H7I/s1600/late+night+snack.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
One of my favourite items I made that weekend was a long-stitch handmade book. Lizzie taught a workshop on how to make one and I used some vintage fabric lined with scrapbook cardstock for my cover, and sketch paper for the pages:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YbBqIBVivU4/UT5STATpDpI/AAAAAAAAI60/mAB6Db3MwcM/s1600/book+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YbBqIBVivU4/UT5STATpDpI/AAAAAAAAI60/mAB6Db3MwcM/s1600/book+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also managed a few layouts, a couple of cards, a fabric yo-yo, and 3 mini-books! They weren't all finished by the end of the weekend, but I've been finishing up since I got home. You already saw one of them - my <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/counterfeit-kit-march-challenge-2.html" target="_blank">Counterfeit Kit layout for challenge 2</a>. The rest will appear here over the next week-or-so!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Thanks very much to all the lovely ladies that I spent the weekend with. It was wonderful to meet so many people whose blogs I have read for a while, and cool to meet Louise and Jemma that I'm on Design Teams with! Special thanks to Fay, Lizzie, and Mel, who were sitting nearest to me when I arrived rather late on the Friday night (I got stuck in horrible traffic on the way there) - they chatted to me lots, making feel at home straight away!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I can't wait to see everyone again at the next one! x</div>
<br />Jennifer Gracehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02013102697355186671noreply@blogger.com19tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6677093240562122982.post-50711077572844469002013-03-10T13:42:00.001+00:002013-03-10T13:42:36.645+00:00Happy Mother's Day + Washi Tape Bow Tutorial<div style="text-align: center;">
Today is Mother's Day here, so Happy Mother's day to any Mother's / Grandmothers / Carers out there!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had pancakes for breakfast in bed this morning (see my Instagram photos in my right sidebar for pictures!), so that was lovely. Unfortunately hubby then had to dash off to work, but my friend Rosie is cooking a roast for me and my kiddies for lunch - isn't she lovely?!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's the Mother's Day card I sent to my Mum. I won't see her today as she lives too far away for a day trip, but I should be seeing her in a week or so. I hope this colourful card made her smile this morning:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r9zqthldGWY/UTyIkK6MKtI/AAAAAAAAI4s/NncwkfB7LVQ/s1600/today+is+your+day+mum+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r9zqthldGWY/UTyIkK6MKtI/AAAAAAAAI4s/NncwkfB7LVQ/s1600/today+is+your+day+mum+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used mainly Glitz Design items, from the 'Color Me Happy' and 'Uncharted Waters' collections. I love the giant rhinestone with a heart inside, and I'm having so much fun with the roller doodle stamps - I used the chevron doodle, with gold glitter Zing embossing powder, down the right of the card. It adds a lovely sparkle!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Do you want to know how I made the washi tape bow? Here you go:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 1</b>: Cut a section off a cardboard tube, to just below the width of your washi tape:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OJK6Gz-JQcU/UTyIkNjpneI/AAAAAAAAI4k/wbxAkzyeD1w/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OJK6Gz-JQcU/UTyIkNjpneI/AAAAAAAAI4k/wbxAkzyeD1w/s1600/1.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 2</b>: Cover it inside and out with washi tape (two different kinds of tape):</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CzQUXC8n0cQ/UTyIkpRjHkI/AAAAAAAAI4w/sa92gLWURZM/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CzQUXC8n0cQ/UTyIkpRjHkI/AAAAAAAAI4w/sa92gLWURZM/s1600/2.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 3</b>: Poke a hole through the middle of the front and back of the tube, and push a brad through to hold the tube together in a bow shape. The washi will wrinkle around the brad, but that's okay as you are going to cover up this centre section:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DW4ohHQuw_c/UTyIlqDihUI/AAAAAAAAI48/76dnLMDhCV0/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DW4ohHQuw_c/UTyIlqDihUI/AAAAAAAAI48/76dnLMDhCV0/s1600/3.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 4</b>: Wrap some washi tape around the centre section a couple of times to cover up the brad and the wrinkled tape:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E9ZcU5fvpFI/UTyImHnTm3I/AAAAAAAAI5E/byyWCxj80PQ/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E9ZcU5fvpFI/UTyImHnTm3I/AAAAAAAAI5E/byyWCxj80PQ/s1600/4.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
That's it! If you want the bow to have tails then just cut these from the same washi tape and stick them onto your project before you add the bow. Make sure you use really strong adhesive to attach the bow - I used a hot glue gun, but glossy accents or similar should also work.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This bow does make the card a bit bulky, as it doesn't squish down like a ribbon bow would. I had to send my card 'large letter' size by Royal Mail. I don't mind this, but if you don't like paying more for postage then you should save this kind of bow for hand-delivered cards or other projects!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Whether you are a Mother or not, I hope you enjoy your Sunday! x</div>

The <a href="http://www.counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/challenge-2-vera-bradley-challenge.html" target="_blank">Counterfeit Kit March Challenge #2</a> is to mix at least 3 different patterned papers together, inspired by the designer Vera Bradley. I often mix patterns together on pages with a cardstock or plain background, so to really challenge myself I used a background paper with a bold pink chevron pattern...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Happy to be Together:</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FlEZTT0ZN28/UTpkRe3zMyI/AAAAAAAAI4E/zb0sjkj9gL8/s1600/happy+to+be+together+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FlEZTT0ZN28/UTpkRe3zMyI/AAAAAAAAI4E/zb0sjkj9gL8/s1600/happy+to+be+together+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made sure that some patterns were bold, some subtle, some big, and some small, so that the patterns didn't overwhelm my photo. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am pleased to have finally used this 'Happy to be Together' chipboard piece as my title - it's been in my stash for years and years:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LztPG0-1dbc/UTpmVg0v9tI/AAAAAAAAI4M/JEpqeXCNU_k/s1600/title+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LztPG0-1dbc/UTpmVg0v9tI/AAAAAAAAI4M/JEpqeXCNU_k/s1600/title+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And my <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/fimo-feathers-and-paper-straws-tutorials.html" target="_blank">Shrinkles bird</a> looks good next to some layered up Prima flowers and Crate Paper Brad (I attached the bird using glossy accents):</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bkHSJ_gk_Nw/UTpmWdBSXcI/AAAAAAAAI4Q/dB2UCcVfKS0/s1600/journal+detail+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bkHSJ_gk_Nw/UTpmWdBSXcI/AAAAAAAAI4Q/dB2UCcVfKS0/s1600/journal+detail+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love how bright and busy this layout is, as it reminds me of that summer day. Though since I finished and photographed the layout I've remembered more details about the day - like how me and my daughter didn't like the food as she is picky and I was heavily pregnant... and how she didn't want to go home because there was a path-maze that she was walking round-and-round for ages... I need to fit some more journaling somewhere!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
How about it - will you have a go at mixing lots of patterns on your next page? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm off shoe shopping for the kids today... wish me luck! x</div>
<br />Jennifer Gracehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02013102697355186671noreply@blogger.com18tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6677093240562122982.post-39853117531614200722013-03-07T10:46:00.000+00:002013-03-07T13:55:50.153+00:00Picture Props Layout<div style="text-align: center;">
I created this layout for a Crate Paper challenge called 'Love Red'. My page was featured as a runner-up on their round-up post <a href="http://crate.typepad.com/cratepaper/2013/03/february-creative-weekly-love-red-challenge-winner.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The colour red has been sneaking back into scrapbook collections more and more, and I love how it really stands out on my projects!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Picture Props: </span></b></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YqCzkcsS4gw/UThnfqH0QQI/AAAAAAAAI2g/uAb7IkVTm1Q/s1600/Picture+Props+by+Jennifer+Grace+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Picture Props - a Crate Paper Layout by Jennifer Grace" border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YqCzkcsS4gw/UThnfqH0QQI/AAAAAAAAI2g/uAb7IkVTm1Q/s1600/Picture+Props+by+Jennifer+Grace+blog.jpg" title="" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used the cork-board <i>Storyteller</i> 'Archives' paper as the background, so that the photos and items look like an eclectic mix of bits and pieces, all pinned together. I framed the cork-board paper by layering it onto white cardstock, and then onto some red & cream patterned paper (<i>Fourteen</i> 'Connection) - this defines the edge of my page, but because the red is patterned it doesn't dominate the rest of the layout.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had fun using some doily bunting, and a moustache, from the <a href="http://www.sjpapercrafts.co.uk/crate--diy-shop-collection-kit-new-2909-p.asp" target="_blank"><i>DIY Shop</i> collection pack</a>, to make a focal area for my title:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Kyzu6sNJpZw/UThngFyXWNI/AAAAAAAAI2c/PlRvbtm-RAw/s1600/PP+Title+Detail+by+Jennifer+Grace+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Kyzu6sNJpZw/UThngFyXWNI/AAAAAAAAI2c/PlRvbtm-RAw/s1600/PP+Title+Detail+by+Jennifer+Grace+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can just about see in the next picture that I stuck the photos and tags down flat at one end - the end they were 'pinned' or 'taped' at, and then used 3D foam dots at the opposite end, to enhance the effect that they'd been quickly attached to a cork-board:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TlTWWYiPkb0/UThoKjF1jYI/AAAAAAAAI3E/ROe6QnoTQ10/s1600/PP+Best+Day+Detail+by+Jennifer+Grace+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TlTWWYiPkb0/UThoKjF1jYI/AAAAAAAAI3E/ROe6QnoTQ10/s1600/PP+Best+Day+Detail+by+Jennifer+Grace+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made the polaroid frames myself from white cardstock, adding some gold and grey mist droplets at one bottom corner, and a heart snipped from the <i>Fourteen</i> tag-cuts sheet at the other corner:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c7ebqfU3a2k/UThv3ZEp-6I/AAAAAAAAI3k/0qzoTBtRAIM/s1600/PP+Journaling+Detail+by+Jennifer+Grace+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c7ebqfU3a2k/UThv3ZEp-6I/AAAAAAAAI3k/0qzoTBtRAIM/s1600/PP+Journaling+Detail+by+Jennifer+Grace+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can also just about see some white crepe paper dots. I'm using crepe paper on all my layouts about <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/my%2030th%20birthday" target="_blank">my 30th Birthday</a>, to bring them all together. I just punched these ones with an ordinary hole punch - they add a subtle detail to the background.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love this page because the whole feel of it reminds me of the crazy fun me and my sister were having, grabbing random bits and putting them together for a silly costume photo! And the bold touches of red are perfect. Have you used the colour red on any projects lately?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Bye for now, x</div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Good Day! Sorry this tutorials post was a bit delayed, but I went away this weekend to a crop (more details about that on another post this week), and I didn't manage to get this post finished before I left. So here it is now...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here are the handmade embellishments that are part of my <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/my-march-counterfeit-kit-blog-hop-reveal.html" target="_blank">March Counterfeit Kit</a>:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bqPMlHcVvGc/UTTVuwDpmdI/AAAAAAAAI1I/rZtV6blT1-8/s1600/handmade+embellies+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bqPMlHcVvGc/UTTVuwDpmdI/AAAAAAAAI1I/rZtV6blT1-8/s1600/handmade+embellies+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The 'stickers' and the little birds were quite easy, so I haven't got a tutorial for those - I'll just talk you through them at the end of this post. But first I have got two other tutorials for you - one for the feathers, made of Fimo modelling Clay, and a video tutorial for the paper straws!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Fimo Feathers:</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 1</b>: Soften a lump of white modelling clay (I used Fimo):</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ceBgXIkkYHI/UTTVRakdNXI/AAAAAAAAIz8/TINpigqWYK8/s1600/1+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ceBgXIkkYHI/UTTVRakdNXI/AAAAAAAAIz8/TINpigqWYK8/s1600/1+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 2</b>: Squeeze one end to be more pointed, and flatten the other end, so you have a shape a bit like a guitar:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-B3_j_BEQcW8/UTTVSPAFlII/AAAAAAAAI0E/Knxel20i2Fk/s1600/2+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-B3_j_BEQcW8/UTTVSPAFlII/AAAAAAAAI0E/Knxel20i2Fk/s1600/2+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 3</b>: Elongate the flattened end, and pinch the pointy end together more. the pointy end should be about a quarter of the overall shape in length:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EmLbEt5oIh8/UTTVS6kEU2I/AAAAAAAAI0M/-qYdeTAaoNk/s1600/3+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EmLbEt5oIh8/UTTVS6kEU2I/AAAAAAAAI0M/-qYdeTAaoNk/s1600/3+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 4</b>: Flatten the pointy end down too, so it now looks really pointy like a pencil. Shape the other end to have a soft point at the tip:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-B2hb3_wKfAo/UTTVTiH03LI/AAAAAAAAI0c/9pBdZOfUNKM/s1600/4+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-B2hb3_wKfAo/UTTVTiH03LI/AAAAAAAAI0c/9pBdZOfUNKM/s1600/4+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 5</b>: Finish shaping and smoothing the clay until it looks like a feather:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8KjPMHN8Za0/UTTVUkGHw4I/AAAAAAAAI0Y/aqJm_XOtxTw/s1600/5+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8KjPMHN8Za0/UTTVUkGHw4I/AAAAAAAAI0Y/aqJm_XOtxTw/s1600/5+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 6</b>: Bake or leave to dry according to manufacturer's instructions. Then use a fine paintbrush and some acrylic paint to paint a feathery blue line all around your feather:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GGQRjSGnbqw/UTTVVGvnVaI/AAAAAAAAI0o/duYFyj3mt9g/s1600/6+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GGQRjSGnbqw/UTTVVGvnVaI/AAAAAAAAI0o/duYFyj3mt9g/s1600/6+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 7</b>: When the outline is dry, paint a line up the middle - you can add a 'hole' somewhere along the line to make it look a bit thicker:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OwG7O_nNzbY/UTTVV-U5XCI/AAAAAAAAI0w/y2cXzihXEIc/s1600/7+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OwG7O_nNzbY/UTTVV-U5XCI/AAAAAAAAI0w/y2cXzihXEIc/s1600/7+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 8</b>: When the centre line is dry, you can then paint diagonal lines going from the centre to the edges of the feather, all the way along. If you make any of the lines too thick, you can leave it to dry and then paint back over them a little with white acrylic paint:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h_ID7Fls0dg/UTTVWotfJxI/AAAAAAAAI00/lCcvIYRN24s/s1600/8+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h_ID7Fls0dg/UTTVWotfJxI/AAAAAAAAI00/lCcvIYRN24s/s1600/8+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 9</b>: When the paint is all dry use some strong, dries-clear glue to add a gem and a sequin to the bottom of the feather:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UqSQh4VquoM/UTTVYonl6FI/AAAAAAAAI08/F94iw6T2po4/s1600/finished+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UqSQh4VquoM/UTTVYonl6FI/AAAAAAAAI08/F94iw6T2po4/s1600/finished+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Done! My feathers are approx 3.5" long and <span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;">⅛" thick, and they weigh 6 grams. You could maybe make them a little thinner, but Fimo will get more brittle the thinner it gets, so don't make them too thin or they will snap.</span> And make sure you attach them to your projects with strong glue!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Paper Straws:</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I did a video tutorial for this one - it's only a minute long. The steps are:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 1</b>: Take a square piece of paper and roll it from one corner to the opposite corner (with no adhesive).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 2</b>: Unroll it and add adhesive to the two sides of the square that you were rolling towards.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 3</b>: Roll it back up, and then snip off the two pointed ends.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's the video (you can view it <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=6Dfr6RBbYhI" target="_blank">HERE</a> in You Tube to see it larger):</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/6Dfr6RBbYhI?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Quick and easy! Use a strong adhesive - I used removeable tape at first and the corner unrolled a little, so I tucked a bit of strong gluestick underneath and it's fine now. A permanent adhesive works better!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Happy Stickers:</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cJuK5iJNinQ/UTTgJIqJkVI/AAAAAAAAI1w/0QZZCrhrzI8/s1600/stickers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cJuK5iJNinQ/UTTgJIqJkVI/AAAAAAAAI1w/0QZZCrhrzI8/s1600/stickers.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For these I used a variety of stamps and inks. I chose images and words that matched the kit and then stamped them onto shapes, or stamped them onto paper and cut them out. The tag and label shapes were cut using my Slice design cutter.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For some of them I inked the edge, some I doodled a border on, and the tree I backed with card. Then I just stuck them all onto a piece of white card using blu-tack, so I can take them off and add adhesive when I want to use them!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Shrinkles Birdies:</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1ig2-KVYfWE/UTTh0tNY5YI/AAAAAAAAI14/Q9IGw3l7k0Q/s1600/birdies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1ig2-KVYfWE/UTTh0tNY5YI/AAAAAAAAI14/Q9IGw3l7k0Q/s1600/birdies.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These were simple too - I just coloured in a bird stamp using ProMarkers, and stamped it onto frosted Shinkles. Then I cut them out and shrunk them in the oven - they shrunk to about half the original size, so these little birds are just under an inch wide. They are so cute!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There we go! I hope one of my handmade embellishments has inspired you to add a little something handmade to your next project. Check back through the month to see how I'm using these on my layouts and cards!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 16px;">Hello and welcome to the PaperHaus Spring Fling Blog Hop! You should have arrived here via Izzy at <a href="http://writesnapscrap.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Write, Snap, Scrap</a>, or you can always go back to the beginning at the <a href="http://www.thepaperhaus.com/" target="_blank">Paperhaus Blog</a>!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 16px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 16px;">I'm so excited to be part of the release celebrations of the PaperHaus Magazine Spring Issue. Just wait until you see all the amazing projects and inspiration in it! I have 3 projects in this issue - see if you can spot them!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 16px;">This hop is to give you a look at some other projects that the contributors have made, along the theme of Spring. These aren't the projects in the magazine, so you need to make sure you check out the magazine <span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://issuu.com/thepaperhaus/docs/paperhaus_spring_2013r" target="_blank">here</a></span> for extra inspiration!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: inherit; line-height: 16px;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://issuu.com/thepaperhaus/docs/paperhaus_spring_2013r" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8gF2og9NTGk/USviVW8NRqI/AAAAAAAAIyA/eTQ3DX4o3JE/s1600/spring+cover.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Doesn't it look pretty? There's lots of loveliness inside too, I promise!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="line-height: 16px;">Almost every stop along this Spring Fling hop will have a RAK (or Giveaway) of some kind, so you really don't want to miss out! I have a giveaway too, but first of all here's a card I've made on the theme of Spring:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="line-height: 16px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-23IMQDD4ao8/US_5RLt_UiI/AAAAAAAAIzY/MhMQ6uA3dKc/s1600/spring+card3+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-23IMQDD4ao8/US_5RLt_UiI/AAAAAAAAIzY/MhMQ6uA3dKc/s1600/spring+card3+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<span style="line-height: 16px;"><br /></span>
<span style="line-height: 16px;"><b>To make this card:</b></span><br />
<span style="line-height: 16px;"><br /></span>
<span style="line-height: 16px;">1. Cut a piece of white card to 5</span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;">½" x 3</span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;">¾". Use a Glitz Chevron Roller Doodle, and some ink pads, to stamp green, yellow, and blue chevrons at the base of your card.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;">2. Machine or hand stitch a border around the white card, using yellow thread. Sprinkle some Heidi Swapp Gold Lame mist drops near the top left.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 17px;">3. Stamp a cloud or two above the mist droplets, using blue ink (my clouds are from Dear Lizzy <i>Lucky Charm</i>). Stick the white piece of card to a aqua card blank.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;">3. Stamp and emboss a yellow 'hello' greeting on smooth white card (I used a Pink Paislee Portfolio stamp), adhere to the card using 3D foam dots. Use Thickers to spell the word 'spring' above your chevrons. Send to someone to brighten up their spring day!</span><br />
<br />
Do you want to receive something to brighten up a spring day? Then enter this giveaway and you'll be in with a chance:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JeGhmAAkfqk/US_-qQifG7I/AAAAAAAAIzo/KHiMvnXVPh0/s1600/giveaway+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JeGhmAAkfqk/US_-qQifG7I/AAAAAAAAIzo/KHiMvnXVPh0/s1600/giveaway+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was just going to give away a Glitz Chevron Roller Doodle, the same as the one I used on my card. Then I decided it looked lonely on it's own, so I added a few papers from each of the Glitz Uncharted Waters and Color Me Happy 6x6 Pads, a sampling of Glitz and Freckled Fawn Washi Tapes (on a wooden peg, with a bit of twine too), and a few Freckled Fawn and Studio Calico Wood Veneers. All that you see in the above photo!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What do you have to do to try and win this little parcel of happy? Just leave a comment! Make sure you leave a way for me to contact you if you win, if you aren't easily contacted via your google account. This giveaway is open internationally, and will close on the 7th of March at 11.59pm PST. The winner will be announced the next day, March 8th, right here on this blog - so check back to see if you won!</div>
<br />
Now I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop, and the chance for a lot more prizes. You need to go to Christina at <a href="http://christinaheeren.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Capture. Create, Inspire.</a> next!<br />
<br /></div>

Hello and welcome to the reveal of the <a href="http://www.counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog</a> Design Team's Kits for March! You should have arrived here via Jemma at <a href="http://just-jimjams.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Just Jimjams</a>, and your journey will take you onwards after you've taken a peek at my March kit!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0b5394;"><b>(Edited to add:</b> I mention below that the tutorials for the handmade embellies will be posted on the 2nd of March, but due to slight technical problems and slight me-running-out-of-time, the tutorials will be posted on the 4th of March instead. Sorry!)</span></div>

Their kit was full of happy colours, feathers, flowers, owls, butterflies, bunting, and more! </div>

Hello! For a final blow-out for our February Counterfeit Kits, some of the <a href="http://www.counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog</a> Design Team are taking you on a hop to get to know us as individuals a little better! You should have arrived via the wonderful Jemma at <a href="http://just-jimjams.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Just Jimjams</a>, and I'll send you onwards at the end of this post!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We've made some projects, inspired by one or two journaling sheets from the lovely Christie Zimmer at <a href="http://www.graceisoverrated.com/" target="_blank">Grace is Overrated</a>. I chose to use the 'anti-to-do-list' which you can find on Christie's blog <span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://www.graceisoverrated.com/2010/07/new-journal-page.html" target="_blank">HERE</a></span>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's mine all filled in (I added a bit of colour round the edges of mine with washi tape and stamps from my kit):</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5Hgo9Y7bjr4/USu0tkZ0FbI/AAAAAAAAIs8/ZPkFcMerw_Q/s1600/night+owl+journal+sheet+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5Hgo9Y7bjr4/USu0tkZ0FbI/AAAAAAAAIs8/ZPkFcMerw_Q/s1600/night+owl+journal+sheet+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When reading over this and thinking of a project to make, what most jumped out at me was how much of a night owl I am. I was filling the sheet out at about 11pm at night, I still had lots to do, and my mind was buzzing with ideas. I was multi-tasking lots of things at once (watching tv, printing party invites, filling out this journal sheet, and about to start a stack of ironing). I don't often go to bed before midnight, as I'm most productive at night. So I documented this part-of-me on my layout.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>I am a Night Owl not an Early Bird:</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8je8-Trtghc/USuuHTfFDpI/AAAAAAAAIro/a7v3KzEbMDg/s1600/I+am+a+night+owl+png+blog.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8je8-Trtghc/USuuHTfFDpI/AAAAAAAAIro/a7v3KzEbMDg/s1600/I+am+a+night+owl+png+blog.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you can't make out the journaling, it reads:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #444444;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">'Most evenings I will be up until mid-night. I have lots to do in the evenings...blog reading, dishes, ironing, crafting, watching tv. I'm usually doing at least two of these at once! If I try to go to sleep any earlier then I just lie awake for hours - things whirl around in my head. It's better if I feel I've achieved lots! And no matter how late it is when I go to bed, I always find a few minutes for a game of Bejewelled Blitz!'</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The black chevron bit at the top right of the page, which looks like tape, was actually part of the Pink Paislee Portfolio paper. I just cut around the bottom half of it with a craft knife and slid my other sheet of paper underneath, so it looks like it's taped into place:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mIR9eUaXdL4/USuuElG1CnI/AAAAAAAAIrY/XqaL8nux03M/s1600/night+owl+title+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mIR9eUaXdL4/USuuElG1CnI/AAAAAAAAIrY/XqaL8nux03M/s1600/night+owl+title+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The cute owl is cut using my Slice Design cutter and the Fall/Back to School Design Card. I had fun building a little background for him using embellies in my kit:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cH35IMVwj34/USuuGmWtd7I/AAAAAAAAIrg/sxQSkQeULIs/s1600/so+anyway+detail+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cH35IMVwj34/USuuGmWtd7I/AAAAAAAAIrg/sxQSkQeULIs/s1600/so+anyway+detail+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So tell me, are you a night owl, an early bird, or somewhere in between? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now it's time for you to hop onwards to the fabulous Julie at <a href="http://www.hisglorygirl.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">His Glory Girl</a>. If you get lost anywhere along the hop then here's the full list for you:</div>

I've been using up <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/my-february-counterfeit-kit-dt-blog-hop.html" target="_blank">my February Counterfeit Kit</a> by making some quick cards, for a variety of people or occasions:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_WikcQ7N2lA/USteFryrASI/AAAAAAAAIp0/5c4s6FvTPlg/s1600/you+make+the+world+go+round+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_WikcQ7N2lA/USteFryrASI/AAAAAAAAIp0/5c4s6FvTPlg/s1600/you+make+the+world+go+round+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tRHBmhQ102Q/USteITDV2cI/AAAAAAAAIp8/XtLUU62ni1k/s1600/sending+love+mum+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tRHBmhQ102Q/USteITDV2cI/AAAAAAAAIp8/XtLUU62ni1k/s1600/sending+love+mum+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9G6wSmuLKgw/USteJV0jFYI/AAAAAAAAIqE/dQW8EyNR59o/s1600/dino+happy+bday+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9G6wSmuLKgw/USteJV0jFYI/AAAAAAAAIqE/dQW8EyNR59o/s1600/dino+happy+bday+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ivQkNX9QtrI/USteJvERS1I/AAAAAAAAIqI/YlBCnnsZ9Rk/s1600/happy+birthday+fabulous+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ivQkNX9QtrI/USteJvERS1I/AAAAAAAAIqI/YlBCnnsZ9Rk/s1600/happy+birthday+fabulous+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I don't know who these are all destined for yet, but they'll go happily into my card box for when I need a card in a hurry! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It make me feel good to have made a big dent in my kit too. I know I'm going to have some stickers and alphas left at the end of the month, but that's okay. Most of the papers should be gone! Do you ever make a batch of random cards just to plough through a bit of stash? x</div>
<br />Jennifer Gracehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02013102697355186671noreply@blogger.com16tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6677093240562122982.post-35364660671685458762013-02-20T09:49:00.001+00:002013-02-20T09:50:42.386+00:00Things to tell you... and a giveaway!<div style="text-align: center;">
The wonderful Sian at <a href="http://www.fromhighinthesky.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">From High in the Sky</a> is running a very interesting series called 'So this is Scrapbooking', and she invited me to join in and tell my story. So if you'd like to read more about how I discovered scrapbooking and what it means to me, then go check it out <span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://fromhighinthesky.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/so-this-is-scrapbooking-jennifer.html" target="_blank">here</a></span>!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One thing you may notice on that post is a bit of news - I'm currently working on a new blog, to replace this one. Don't worry, the stuff you love at Jennifer's Jumbles will continue at the new blog, you'll just need to change the address you're following! The new blog is not quite ready ready, but if you want to take a sneaky peek at the work-in-progress, or start adding it to your reader, then you can - the address is <a href="http://www.jennifergracecreates.com/" target="_blank">www.jennifergracecreates.com</a>.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7NEjZGVwSxI/USSZws6TU6I/AAAAAAAAIoo/4sGAMjrqomk/s1600/jennifer+grace+creates+screenshot.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7NEjZGVwSxI/USSZws6TU6I/AAAAAAAAIoo/4sGAMjrqomk/s1600/jennifer+grace+creates+screenshot.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
In the meantime I'd love it if you'll tell me what you'd like to see at the new blog, so I've created a <span style="font-size: large;">survey </span>with 10 questions, to ask what you'd like to find at Jennifer Grace Creates.<br />
<br />
Anyone who answers the <span style="font-size: large;">survey</span> can enter to win a <span style="font-size: large;">giveaway</span> for a surprise box of papercrafting goodies! I'll stuff a pizza box with a mix of old and new items. Just make sure you leave an email address in the right box on the survey so I can contact you if you win. The closing date is Friday 22nd March, and the winner will be notified by Sunday 24th March. The giveaway is open internationally.<br />
<br />
The survey is <a href="http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DRC2VBM" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: x-large;">HERE!</span></a><br />
<br />
Thanks very much for taking the time to read my blog, your support is much appreciated! You are welcome to leave a comment on this post, but please be aware that only answering the survey will enter you into the giveaway!<br />
<br />
And don't forget to go and check out my guest post at <a href="http://fromhighinthesky.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">From High in the Sky</a>! x<br />

I had set aside this photo of the <a href="http://www.raf.mod.uk/reds/" target="_blank">Red Arrows</a> to use with <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/my-february-counterfeit-kit-dt-blog-hop.html" target="_blank">my February Counterfeit Kit</a>, because there was lots of blue in the photo, as well as in my kit. But when trying it out on the blue papers I realised there would be too much blue, and what it really needed was a strong contrast. So I was very pleased I'd stuck this bold red paper into my kit as well:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-siy6UnNE8Ps/USNB81438LI/AAAAAAAAIm8/K-BkLZ4VOP4/s1600/red+arrows+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-siy6UnNE8Ps/USNB81438LI/AAAAAAAAIm8/K-BkLZ4VOP4/s1600/red+arrows+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The design of this page is quite uncluttered for me, but I still managed to fit on a fair few embellishments - mainly lots of arrows! I hadn't noticed before how the red triangle button could look like an arrowhead, so it was perfect for this page! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ukIb78-HL3M/USNCh0RudiI/AAAAAAAAInc/CJA3F1-XidM/s1600/title+close+up+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ukIb78-HL3M/USNCh0RudiI/AAAAAAAAInc/CJA3F1-XidM/s1600/title+close+up+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Everything is from my kit, except a gold ink pad used to stamp the star tab. The tab is attached to a photo that's tucked behind the journaling panel:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-z51_TCj-W-8/USNB_LQWQfI/AAAAAAAAInM/0iMM1i_IxPc/s1600/pull+out+photo+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-z51_TCj-W-8/USNB_LQWQfI/AAAAAAAAInM/0iMM1i_IxPc/s1600/pull+out+photo+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love the photo even though it isn't the best quality picture, as my daughter had this expression on her face the whole time we were watching the Red Arrows - half astonishment and half confusion! She asked a lot of questions... 'How do they fly so fast? Why does their smoke change colour? Why are they so noisy? Where are they going?' These questions and some private journaling are documented on the back of the photo.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have you ever seen a Red Arrows or similar airshow? This was the first time I'd seen them since I was a kid so I was thrilled by it too. We hope to go again this year, as it's a free event each year as part of Swanage Carnival, just down the road from us!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have you been crafting lately? Don't forget to keep an eye on the <a href="http://www.counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog </a> for inspiration! x</div>

</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have been using my gigantic <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/my-february-counterfeit-kit-dt-blog-hop.html" target="_blank">February Counterfeit Kit</a>, honest! Here's a couple of layouts to prove it...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Wobbly Walker:</span></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-grRfpxESsQs/URgTJUV-S5I/AAAAAAAAIeA/yT3NIwBaktk/s1600/wobbly+walker+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-grRfpxESsQs/URgTJUV-S5I/AAAAAAAAIeA/yT3NIwBaktk/s1600/wobbly+walker+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This one shows one of the first pictures I took of my son walking - with a helping hand or two. He looks so pleased with himself!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had fun adding lots of sentiments to this page to capture the memories - to try and keep the day as fresh in my mind as it is now. I especially like the 'I treasure this moment' stamp by Elle's Studio, and the 'Happy Days' brad by Papermania:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-p2RjfGHS9rw/URgUFhORf6I/AAAAAAAAIeY/-Z9wQizTkck/s1600/wobbly+walker+title+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-p2RjfGHS9rw/URgUFhORf6I/AAAAAAAAIeY/-Z9wQizTkck/s1600/wobbly+walker+title+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/vellum-bags-and-journaling-cards.html" target="_blank">handmade journaling card</a> was perfect to sum up the moment, and I like how the ombre effect creates a sense of movement:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-j0-lRDC_deE/URgTLGablDI/AAAAAAAAIeQ/YPUrHI9vP7c/s1600/wobbly+walker+journaling+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-j0-lRDC_deE/URgTLGablDI/AAAAAAAAIeQ/YPUrHI9vP7c/s1600/wobbly+walker+journaling+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The arrow at the top left is pointing to the number '1' because that's how old he was - I like this little extra detail that you might not notice on first glance.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Bouncing About:</span></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-l7Z_GfP8K8A/URgTGVinhuI/AAAAAAAAIdo/5qELC5UNVO8/s1600/bouncing+about+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-l7Z_GfP8K8A/URgTGVinhuI/AAAAAAAAIdo/5qELC5UNVO8/s1600/bouncing+about+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was the first time my kids bounced on a see-saw all by themselves! It was a cold day, but they had so much fun. It took me a while to think of a title for this one, but I settled on 'bouncing about, enjoying life', using mini alphas and an Elle's Studio 'Lil' Snippet':</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-n2g1r8Pdjjg/URgTHUWv_CI/AAAAAAAAIdw/xhpFlz1oSjU/s1600/bouncing+about+title+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-n2g1r8Pdjjg/URgTHUWv_CI/AAAAAAAAIdw/xhpFlz1oSjU/s1600/bouncing+about+title+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
My <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/vellum-bags-and-journaling-cards.html" target="_blank">handmade vellum envelope </a>was a great place to hide some extra journaling about all our trips to the play-park, and why this day was especially nice:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-exDrbNRpFUw/URgTIFqR60I/AAAAAAAAId4/R5T1oIH8vLk/s1600/bouncing+about+journaling+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-exDrbNRpFUw/URgTIFqR60I/AAAAAAAAId4/R5T1oIH8vLk/s1600/bouncing+about+journaling+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm glad scrapbooking helps me capture all these moments when they get on together, but I should probably do a page soon about all the fights they have too - I don't want the record of our lives to look too unrealistically perfect! They've had some dissagreements today, about whose turn it was with the ball, who gets the biggest snack, and who gets to sit on the wooden chair - to name just a few!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Do you document the imperfect moments too? Or you prefer to keep your albums happy and lovely?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm going to keep using my mammoth Counterfeit Kit, though it's going to be difficult to stick to it, as I've bought lots of new goodies from Elle's Studio and Glitz Designs, and they cannot be ignored...! x</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Do you know that My Mind's Eye and Gossamer Blue are holding a contest for a guest designer? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The details are <span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://mymindseye.typepad.com/blog/2013/01/gb-mme-guest-designer.html" target="_blank">HERE</a></span>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made this layout to enter into the contest:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ELKnXcJZcwk/URK6LEdPnDI/AAAAAAAAIcU/9pCvcyx1MHM/s1600/a+sweet+day+dream+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ELKnXcJZcwk/URK6LEdPnDI/AAAAAAAAIcU/9pCvcyx1MHM/s1600/a+sweet+day+dream+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I wanted to create a cool but dreamy feel to match my little boy's far-off look - so I added lots of shiny droplets, tone-on-tone stars, and some clouds. Two of the clouds came from a doily sticker that I cut in half, and the larger cloud is a chipboard piece that I added <a href="http://www.sjpapercrafts.co.uk/liquid-pearls--white-opal-445-p.asp" target="_blank">White Liquid Pearls</a> to:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-U7QJIY-zQM0/URK5RpPkv-I/AAAAAAAAIb8/W51ok77PkWE/s1600/title+close+up+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-U7QJIY-zQM0/URK5RpPkv-I/AAAAAAAAIb8/W51ok77PkWE/s1600/title+close+up+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The stitching at the top of the page has one little kiss stitched on top:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GfBojOjGvYI/URK5SfE9WfI/AAAAAAAAIcE/5r6Pm02vhjc/s1600/date+close-up+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GfBojOjGvYI/URK5SfE9WfI/AAAAAAAAIcE/5r6Pm02vhjc/s1600/date+close-up+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And I used a woodgrain stamp from the 'Miss Caroline - Dolled Up' collection to add an extra texture to the left of the journaling, I think it echoes the pattern on the ground in the photo, and it keeps the layout boyish, balancing out the other delicate details:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WC1Feo81tHY/URK6RVBzJSI/AAAAAAAAIcc/B-f9mege1oM/s1600/journaling+close-up+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WC1Feo81tHY/URK6RVBzJSI/AAAAAAAAIcc/B-f9mege1oM/s1600/journaling+close-up+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The journaling reads:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">You are usually charging about and getting into mischief, so I was glad to capture this rare moment of you sitting still, on the end of a playpark slide, staring into space.</span></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I wish you could tell me what your day-dream was about - I hope it was sweet and lovely. I'm sure you'll have many more day-dreams to come, but I don't mind you running around and being boy-ish in the meantime!</span></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope I've managed to make a page that captures the sweet, still moment. We don't get many of them round here!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'll be back in a couple of days with some Counterfeit Kit layouts, x</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Challenge One is now live on the <a href="http://www.counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/challenge-one-it-is-doozy.html" target="_blank">Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog</a>, and it's one that's a <i>real</i> challenge: to create a page or project with no photos, only journaling, about 'why I love ____ '.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I quite enjoyed this challenge! I always have lots of things I'd like to record, but because I don't have photos, they tend to get forgotten. For my project I ended up with a mini-book, as I was inspired by my theme 'Oh how I love to read' to use an old book to record my favourite novels in:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rj2blfnlIKI/UQvrWIS4x5I/AAAAAAAAIWk/R1XbfRM-VbE/s1600/How+I+love+to+read+mini-book+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rj2blfnlIKI/UQvrWIS4x5I/AAAAAAAAIWk/R1XbfRM-VbE/s1600/How+I+love+to+read+mini-book+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm going to show you how I put the book together, and then show you all the pages in case you wonder what my favourite books are (I warn you they are mostly Children and Young Adult Fantasy Novels)!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's the construction:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Q9VSMltOyvk/UQvrXYpnwRI/AAAAAAAAIWs/XW5mVdWGtnE/s1600/how+to+make+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Q9VSMltOyvk/UQvrXYpnwRI/AAAAAAAAIWs/XW5mVdWGtnE/s1600/how+to+make+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 1:</b> Cut the front and back covers off an old book, using a craft knife and a steel ruler. I used a poetry book I picked up at a car boot sale for 20p, as I loved the yellow pattern!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 2:</b> Cut a length of fabric approx 2.5" wide, and 3" longer than your covers (so there will be 1.5" to spare at each end). Use pinking scissors to stop the edges fraying.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 3:</b> Use a hot glue gun to attach the fabric to your covers as a spine. Glue onto the outside of the covers first - make sure they are level, and leave a 1" gap in between them. Then fold up the top and bottom flaps onto the inside and glue them with hot glue too. Mark a pencil line 1.5" down from the top and 1.5" up from the bottom (I've added arrows to the photo as it was hard to see the pencil marks).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Step 4: </b>Cut another strip of fabric that's 1" wide, and 1" less in length that the height of the book. Add hot glue above the top pencil line, and attach the top of this fabric strip. Then slide on a small book ring. Add more hot glue from below the book ring, to the next pencil line. Then slide on another book ring, and glue down the end of the strip. Done!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now you just need to decorate the front cover:</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used all bits from <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/my-february-counterfeit-kit-dt-blog-hop.html" target="_blank">my February Counterfeit kit</a>. The doily flowers are punched from one of the 6x6 papers, using a Martha Stewart Vintage Doily punch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also used my kit for all the pages, cutting them to different sizes. I used the Echo Park sticker sheets, a bit of washi tape, and some misting with a wood arrow for a mask, for embellishments. The only extra pages are the front and back pages, which were original pages from the poetry book. I stuck two pages together to make them a bit stronger, and then used gesso to cover up the front of them for writing on:</div>

So, are you going to take up the challenge? If you need more inspiration there are more DT examples <a href="http://www.counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/challenge-one-it-is-doozy.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>. Or there's also the <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/progress-my-word-for-2013.html" target="_blank">'Progress' layout</a> I made last month that had no photo! I'm going to try and do another 'no photo' layout for the member's blog hop later in the month, which you could be part of if you want to take up the challenge!</div>

For those wondering, my sister didn't get a placement at a Camp America camp yesterday. We stood for 2 hours in the cold to queue up for the event, and by the time we got in all the positions had been snapped up by the people ahead of us! She can still apply online though, so fingers crossed. And we had a nice time in London, including dinner at Chiquitos, so it was a good day anyway! See my instagram photos in the right sidebar for some of the photos I took!</div>

Good day to you! Today I'm going to show you how I made these Vellum Bags and Ombre Journaling Cards for <a href="http://www.jennifersjumbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/my-february-counterfeit-kit-dt-blog-hop.html" target="_blank">my February Counterfeit Kit</a>:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1objXD81_gA/UQvw_GjpXUI/AAAAAAAAIYY/RX6uW6MAagw/s1600/handmade+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1objXD81_gA/UQvw_GjpXUI/AAAAAAAAIYY/RX6uW6MAagw/s1600/handmade+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First of all I made myself a template for the bags. <i>You</i> don't need to make one though - you can just download mine from <a href="http://www.keepandshare.com/doc/5661763/vellum-bag-template-jpg-966k" style="font-size: x-large;" target="_blank">HERE.</a> To get the same size bags as me (mine are a smidge over 4" wide by 6" tall) you'd need to print this on A3 paper, but you are welcome to print it at other sizes, cropping the jpeg if necessary - your bags will just be a bit smaller.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tW5ZzKB35k0/UQvyF8JgKRI/AAAAAAAAIak/dBubV63Kh4M/s1600/Vellum+Bag+Template+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tW5ZzKB35k0/UQvyF8JgKRI/AAAAAAAAIak/dBubV63Kh4M/s1600/Vellum+Bag+Template+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Print the template, cut it out (don't cut the tabs off), and draw around it onto a piece of vellum (this is an old piece of Papermania vellum):</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KB1MYvY9nhw/UQvxX5DxM0I/AAAAAAAAIZg/HHPUULSHR0Q/s1600/bags+1+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KB1MYvY9nhw/UQvxX5DxM0I/AAAAAAAAIZg/HHPUULSHR0Q/s1600/bags+1+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Score and fold in the bottom half of the bag, and the side tabs:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VpzfFeS3Lws/UQvxCVkDCGI/AAAAAAAAIYk/Cw56FCgF5OA/s1600/bags+2+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VpzfFeS3Lws/UQvxCVkDCGI/AAAAAAAAIYk/Cw56FCgF5OA/s1600/bags+2+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And then stick the tabs down! At first I used vellum tape, but the bag kept opening up, so I used a glue stick instead which seems to be holding it better!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FLDHjj2ecs8/UQvxCXQ-MMI/AAAAAAAAIYo/9YC-clGztYY/s1600/bags+3+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FLDHjj2ecs8/UQvxCXQ-MMI/AAAAAAAAIYo/9YC-clGztYY/s1600/bags+3+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you don't want to stick the tabs down, you can do this second option. For the cloud bag (vellum is Dear Lizzy <i>Neapolitan</i> 'Silver Lining' I cut off the side tabs and just folded the bottom of the bag upwards:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i-2ZbFK42ds/UQvxEMHO32I/AAAAAAAAIY8/PALehcsetkY/s1600/bag+stitch+1+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i-2ZbFK42ds/UQvxEMHO32I/AAAAAAAAIY8/PALehcsetkY/s1600/bag+stitch+1+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And then machine-stitched up the two sides! Simple as that! It means the space inside the bag is slightly narrower though, so bear that in mind if you make one with stitching:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iy7oKreff1w/UQvxD-32YFI/AAAAAAAAIY4/tU8ru_SvM3Y/s1600/bag+stitch+2+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iy7oKreff1w/UQvxD-32YFI/AAAAAAAAIY4/tU8ru_SvM3Y/s1600/bag+stitch+2+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I can't wait to slip some journaling or ephemera in to these bags!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now for the Ombre Journaling cards, these are really easy...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Step 1. Cut some words or shapes from scrap card. I used my Slice Design Cutter for the words, and I cut the triangles freehand. You could also use punches. (I backed some of the holes here with colours so you can see them easier in the photo):</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aZZj0xh-6x4/UQvxEqW9F2I/AAAAAAAAIZI/6PTRp_dDGQ0/s1600/cards+1+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aZZj0xh-6x4/UQvxEqW9F2I/AAAAAAAAIZI/6PTRp_dDGQ0/s1600/cards+1+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then place the card with the cut shapes on top of a journaling card - my cards are 3x4", I cut them from some Simple Stories <i>Sn@p</i> 'Just the Basics' papers. Use an ink pad to ink through the holes, putting more pressure and going more times over one end than the other, to create an ombre effect:</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A7KtBw8gg5Y/UQvxFOdvqGI/AAAAAAAAIZQ/ynW84AthxwE/s1600/cards+2+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A7KtBw8gg5Y/UQvxFOdvqGI/AAAAAAAAIZQ/ynW84AthxwE/s1600/cards+2+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ink the edges of the journaling card too. That's it!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sZajSqhyWGM/UQvxGQRK9cI/AAAAAAAAIZY/nV1E_zkpZqc/s1600/cards+finished+blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sZajSqhyWGM/UQvxGQRK9cI/AAAAAAAAIZY/nV1E_zkpZqc/s1600/cards+finished+blog.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Both these handmade items are quite simple, which I hope means they'll be good for all kinds of projects! Have I inspired you to make some of your own?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Today I'm away from home, I'm off to help my sister choose a Camp to be a counselor at, there's a Camp America recruitment fair in London. Wish her luck! x</div>
